NUOVO Salon is proud to partner with the Neuro Challenge Foundation for Parkinson’s for their dazzling Kaleidoscope Gala! Co-chaired by Aimee Chouinard and Terry McKee, with Dr. Dean Sutherland as the Honorary Chair. We are so excited to be a part of an event filled with vibrant energy, exquisite food, and the chance to make a real difference in the lives of those affected by Parkinson’s disease.
A Cause Close to Our Hearts
Parkinson’s disease is a neurodegenerative disorder that affects millions of people worldwide. It can cause tremors, stiffness, and difficulty with movement. The Neuro Challenge Foundation for Parkinson’s is a Sarasota-based organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with Parkinson’s and their caregivers. They provide essential resources, support groups, and educational programs that empower individuals and families facing this disease. This cause is especially close to our hearts at NUOVO. Our visionary, Terry McKee is, at the moment, living (and thriving) with a diagnosis of Parkinson’s. In 2021, after wrapping up a 100 pound weight loss (through the program Wildfit via Mindvalley.com) and surviving the stress of the pandemic, Terry returned to work a thinner version of himself. It became increasingly apparent to Terry’s business partner (and one of his dearest friends), James Amato, that he was not himself. James insisted he see a specialist and later that year, July to be exact, the diagnosis was made. Being extremely responsive to the medication, Terry is thrilled to be able to continue the art of hairdressing and co-leading NUOVO. “The NUOVO Family has been nothing short of AMAZING showering me with LOVE and SUPPORT day-in and day-out!” says Terry. “And just so you know, I fully intend to be one of those to reverse this condition” . . .
