Isn’t October grand, my dears? This month ushers in such autumnal treats as pumpkin spice, Halloween festivities and fall fashion trends . . . . . . but we must add to the tippy-top of the list our favorite way to spend the month: fundraising for breast cancer research!
October became Breast Cancer Awareness Month in 1985. Since then, it’s been an important part of the fight against breast cancer for more than 250,000 women and men diagnosed per year in the U.S. The annual campaign promotes awareness and raises funds for crucial weapons against breast cancer . . . . . such as early detection screenings, treatment, and research for the cure.
That last bit is where we come in, my dears! We are raising funds to support cruelty-free research at the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) through October.
Notice all the hearts popping up in our salons in Sarasota and Bradenton? Those are fundraising raffle boxes personally decorated by our teams! Stylists are raffling off complimentary haircuts . . . . . nail techs are raffling off complimentary pedicures . . . . . and the grand prize is a deluxe Aveda gift basket valued at $900!
