For Aracely Ortiz, joining NUOVO wasn’t just about finding a job; it was about finding her people.
“Being a part of the NUOVO team has truly been such an honor,” Aracely says. “Not only have I learned how to strengthen my technique and build confidence behind the chair, I’ve also found a second home full of so much love and support from the owners and fellow stylists.”
She credits the NUOVO apprenticeship program as the foundation of her growth. “Education is a crucial part of this industry and with the help of the apprenticeship program, you feel prepared and on track to becoming a successful stylist.” She also notes that the leadership from owners Terry and James sets the tone: “You can really tell that they care and want to see every one of their team members flourish.”

Ash Matthew brings a contagious enthusiasm to the team, and they find a lot of their motivation in the stylists who have been here for years.

What moves Ash most? Watching the Master Stylists who built their careers through the same apprenticeship program. “It’s so inspiring to see their love for their craft. They have always been watching out for us and motivating us — which makes every day not only productive towards my career, but also fun.”
On the Aveda front, Ash is excited about the direction the brand has been heading: “Taking in what clients and stylists want to see and making new modernized products is what really makes me feel like we have a voice and are all growing and evolving together.”
