Bridal Trends for Summer 2015
You can’t go wrong with looking timeless on your wedding day. In fact, in order to avoid the raised eyebrows of future generations, we consider this to be something of a bridal best practice. However, each wedding season brings its own bevy of trends that you can incorporate subtly into a classically elegant look. We’ve laid out our favorite 2015 trends for various bridal personalities — and rest assured, we’ve vetted each choice to ensure it does not become the 80s puff sleeve of its time.
The flower crown is a tempting, romantic option — but its reign is coming to an end. We suggest that you opt for something equally whimsical and far less ordinary, like this delicate leaf headband from Monique Lhullier.
The creamy ivories and heartbreakingly delicate lace overlays that swept over the runways at Temperley London set our hearts aflutter. Most of all, we loved the sweet elegance of the long, traditional veils that several models displayed. It’s the kind of accessory you can’t help but spin stories around.
The large pearls sported by the models at Carolina Herrera were such a refreshing take on bridal accessorizing — and had some serious high-fashion vibes. Not that Ms. Herrera isn’t a legend in her own right, but we couldn’t help but think of Dior Tribal earrings or the giant pearls from the Chanel runway circa SS14 . . . divine! This is a great way to bejewel your look if your gown’s neckline or style doesn’t allow for a necklace.
At Jenny Packham’s Spring 2015 show, models donned a modernized, shortened veil that feels to us like a throwback to the Roaring 20s. We love the sassy little nod to tradition — and this would be way more fun to toss (and less strange, when you think about it) than a garter, no?
Bridal minimalism has never felt quite so right as it did when we first saw this look from Vera Wang. Maybe it’s the appearance of the cooly effortless "Rich-Girl Hair" that dominated spring runways, but when paired with this simple sheath, clear nails, and neutral makeup, no-fuss feels impossibly glamorous.
We love our brides at Nuovo and relish the chance to make your best day even more beautiful. When you need help with bridal hair, makeup . . . or cake tasting or a champagne toast . . . we are here for you!
